CDTA BIKE RACK PROGRAM

If you've been to TBR lately, you may have
noticed our parking crunch!  Help is on the way.  We have been awarded 4
bike racks through the CDTA's bike rack program.  They will be picked
up the last week in April and installed ASAP. TBR will also be assisting
with the installation of racks at our friends X's to O's Vegan Bakery
on 4th street downtown.

BIKE MAINTENANCE CLASSES
Check out our series of Saturday classes
and register today!  The next one is an Intermediate level class THIS
Saturday April 21 at 1pm. http://troybikerescue.org/classes

HELMET DONATIONS & DECORATING
Huge thanks go out to Stewarts
and the Capital District SafeKids program out of Albany Medical Center.
With their help, we have gotten 300 helmets, and have already begun
distributing them to youth in the neighborhood.  We will be holding
helmet-decorating workshops at our Tuesday Youthshop sessions, and are
looking for donated decorating supplies like hot glue guns, paint
markers, and so on.

WEEKLY VOLUNTEER MEETINGS
Are you a sometimes TBR volunteer or
looking to get more involved?  We now have weekly volunteer meetings fro
8-9pm after Monday Open Shop sessions.  Get to know your fellow
volunteers, and participate in conversations and discussions about TBR
shop policies, finances, and events.

OUR ANNUAL FUNDRAISER PARTY!

Mark your calendars.  May 19, you
will be in North Troy celebrating another year of community building and
bicycle recycling with Troy Bike Rescue.  There is a whole day of
activities including a kids bike rodeo, garden planting day at nearby
Collard City Growers, and a delicious homemade burrito dinner and cash
bar at the Sanctuary for Independent Media, plus a film festival with
videos about community self-reliance from around the world.  Suggested
Donation is $20, and there will be awesome gear raffled off, and a
silent cake auction. Not to be missed!  http://troybikerescue.org/fundraiser

WISHLIST ITEMS
Thanks to people who donated kitchen items!  Our
kitchenette is now the creative hub for food for meetings, kids snacks,
and volunteer sustenance!
We still need some serving spoons, larger pots, and more spices.
